Can I rent out my place short-term in my city?
Pick a city, say whether the place is your primary residence and how many nights a year you plan to rent, and we check it against the rules the city itself publishes: permit or registration, yearly night limits, whole-home rules, lodging tax and whether your listing must show a registration number.
We cover 16 cities today. Every fact comes from an official page and is shown with the city's own wording and the date we read it. Where the official pages do not say, we write "not stated" instead of guessing: 28% of the facts we looked for are not stated yet.
How to read the result
- No stated rule rules it out. Every rule we could check allows your case. It does not mean you are exempt from a permit: read the permit line.
- Not enough is stated. A rule that matters for your case is not stated on the official pages we read, or its scope is unclear. Open the city page.
- Ruled out by a stated rule. A rule the city states, such as a night limit or a primary-residence requirement, does not fit your case.
